Weather in Lebanon

Lebanon is host to a mild climate that does not experience extreme cold or extreme heat.  Lebanon is unique in its landscape that this small country experiences a wide variety of weather conditions.

Lebanon has many cities that sit right on the Mediterranean coast and receive typical coastal weather, yet many towns and villages are located in the mountains ranging in elevation from 400 meters above sea level to 1800 meters above sea level. Towns in mountainous regions experience all four seasons.

Fall Season

In the fall Lebanon experiences very comfortable weather.  After the summer heat passes Lebanon experience a calm and comfortable environment in the fall;  rain is not as prevalent and cold weather is a rarity.  The fall in Lebanon is as comfortable of an environment as you can image.  It is nice convenient weather that never gets too hot or too cold regardless of where you may be in Lebanon.

Winter Season

Lebanon's weather can vary in the winter seasons.  By the sea in cities such as the Capital Beirut and Tripoli it is usually cool but never cold;  Temperature rarely get colder that 7 degrees Celsius and almost never reach the freezing mark.  The cities by the sea experience rain during the winter seasons and every once in a while the residents experience hail.
In the mountains snow can be a common occurrence during the winter months.  At higher elevations in places such as Al-Arz mountains snow is in abundance allowing for a fantastic skiing experience.  At lower levels of elevation villages and towns may experience snow one or two time per year.  Temperatures never get very cold in Lebanon even in midst of winter.

Spring Season

During the spring Lebanon experiences an abundance of rain.  By the sea or in the mountains you can count on rain being a common occurrence during the spring months.  One thing to keep in mind is that Lebanon rarely gets the type of rain that causes flooding or natural disasters.  In general Lebanon rarely experiences extreme weather.  Spring in Lebanon carries comfortable temperatures between 15 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius.

Summer Season

In the summer Lebanon experiences a dry season, the sun is almost always out and the weather is usually very warm.  In the summer temperatures can range from 25 degrees Celsius up to 40 degrees Celsius.  During the summer months regardless of where you may be in Lebanon you can count on sunshine during the day and a refreshing breeze at night.
